August Bank Holiday weather forecast: Will it be a washout in Bath this weekend?
The weather has not been kind to Bath during August, but what does it have in store for the city on Bank Holiday Monday?
It is set to be a washout for many areas of the UK, with widespread showers and gale force winds predicted for the north of the country.
The outlook is slightly more promising for Bath, though, with the Met Office forecasting overcast and largely dry conditions, with a chance of showers in the evening.
The temperature will range from 14°C to a high of 19°C, which is cooler than what is expected for many areas around the rest of the country.

It looks like the rest of the weekend will be mostly dry as well, with high pressure building on Friday and Saturday and highs of 21°C.
Bath should see some sun break through the clouds on Friday, while the outlook appears to be very similar for Saturday, which is good news for those planning to make the most of the long weekend.
The Met Office does suggest the sunny spells could be interrupted by a few showers.
This is backed up by The Weather Channel, which says light showers are possible on Saturday.

A Met Office forecast added: “Saturday is likely to be dry for most of us and warm in the east. One or two showers remain possible.
“Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday will probably become changeable again, with heavy showers or longer spells of rain, particularly in the north and west.
“However, parts of the southeast may stay mainly dry with some sunny spells. It will be windy at times, especially in the north, with a risk of gales.”

Provisional figures from the Met Office show mean temperatures have generally been below average for August by about 1C.
For southern parts of England it has been the coldest start to August since 1987.
The Met Office says: “In terms of rainfall, many places have seen more than half of the whole-month average already, with locations around the Humber and across parts of central southern and south-east England getting close to their month average.

“Up to August 15, the UK has received 60 per cent of the whole-month average for rainfall.
“Looking back over the last ten years, several Augusts have been wet over large parts of the UK, so the month does have a tendency to disappoint those looking for dry weather.”
