Let the good times flow in the bathroom

We are a nation of shower lovers, but standing exposed in a stream of water, we expect a vibrant, effective, sensory experience. Matching your shower to the water system in your home, will ensure sensory pleasure over a damp squib. Gravity- fed mixer showers : Traditional mixer showers use the same water that feeds your kitchen, laundry and bathroom. With part of the water descending from the cold-storage tank and mixing with water from the hot-water storage, the weight of water will depend on where the loft tank is in relation to the shower head. Have your plumber determine if an extra pump will be needed to avoid a feeble spit from the ‘head’ of water: 0.5bar is the minimum for anything approaching an invigorating feed — 3-4m distance between shower head and tank should be enough. Shower pumps for gravity-fed, low pressure: To opt into the luxury of say a tower shower ( added directional jets from an upright column) demands pressure. Pumps deliver more water per minute through ...

Electric Shower vs Mains Fed" class="util--img-responsive feature-image" /> I just bought my first buy to let and currently refurbing the bathroom. I am putting a shower over the bath but can’t decide on electric shower or one fed from the combi boiler on mains pressure. Electric shower pros/cons P – If boiler breaks tenant can still get a hot shower C – They have a crap flow rate . and I’m worried the first comment will be nice bathroom shame about the cheap shower. Can we pay to get a better one??? (Which then means redoing some tiling etc to fit one) Fed from combi boiler pros/cons P – Very good flow rate C – If boiler breaks not hot water anywhere. Advice greatly appreciated . Thanks, Joe

Whether you’re renovating a bathroom or installing a new one, getting the right shower will mean the difference between high-pressure jets of water and a lukewarm tickle. Read on to discover the main types of shower available, and which is best suited to your home’s water system. The key types of shower Electric Quick and easy to install, electric showers draw on a cold-water supply and heat the water on demand so you can jump in at any time of day. They’re also extremely economic – up to 99.7 per cent energy efficient – as the cold water is heated by an element, providing hot water instantly , with no wastage. The higher kilowatt rating you choose, the better the flow will be. Mixer Mixer showers draw from both hot and cold water supplies and usually deliver higher flow rates . The shower works by mixing hot and cold water within the unit and then delivering it through the showerhead, which can be fixed, adjustable, or as a handset on a riser rail. They’re ideal for homes with rea...

Market Analysis, Case Study, solution

Customers Shower buyers fall in three pricing segments: premium, standard and value. First, premium segment is conducted of people who mainly shop in showrooms. Their focus is on great service and high performance. Second segment is called standard. Customers in this segment rely on plumber recommendation and emphasize performance and service.
